We encourage everyone who attends Bushey Baptist Church to be part of a small group to share experiences, learn from each other, care for each other and pray.

Small groups may be formal or informal.  Some groups meet in homes and others meet at church. These meetings are held at different times on different days.

We would summarise the purpose of small groups as being 'Gatherings Where Truth Transforms the Whole of Life'

My small group has been a great encouragement to me and has helped me to grow in my faith.

Small groups are gatherings where:

  • We learn together how to be whole-life disciples of Jesus Christ
  • We unite in wholehearted worship and effective prayer
  • We apply biblical truth to the challenges of home, work and community
  • We experience grace and strengthen one another in relationships of mutual care
  • We grow in maturity through mutual encouragement and accountability
  • We grow in the practice of spiritual disciplines and the exercise of spiritual gifts
  • We encourage one another to be good stewards of our time, talents and treasure
  • We learn how to be witnesses for Christ at home, at work and in the community
  • We encourage prayerful engagement with issues of poverty and injustice
Scriptural foundation for small group vision:

Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you…”

Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31)

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength…and you shall love your neighbour as yourself.”
